'Guarzo' Red bean 2022

This project aims to engage coffee farming families located in one of the areas most affected by the country's internal conflict, specifically the Cañón de las Hermosas district in Chaparral, Tolima, Colombia. Following the peace process signed in 2016, this district has opened its doors to companies like Biodiversal, which is implementing a productive project that combines coffee and bean cultivation in a profitable transition towards regenerative agriculture.

Family engagement

At our company, we believe in the power of community. We begin the project by fostering strong relationships with local families. Through group socializations and farm visits, we verify the suitable conditions for project development. This process also helps us tailor training content to ensure the project's success.

Planting phase

The key indicator during the planting stage is crop establishment. Our team of extensionists visits the farms, providing assistance to the farmers, resolving any doubts they may have, and offering recommendations. This hands-on support plays a vital role in ensuring a successful planting process.

Crop growing phase

To maintain optimal crop growth, it is crucial to manage the presence of pests and diseases effectively. With the help of our field extensionists and open lines of communication with the farmers, we evaluate and control the economic damage caused by pests and diseases. This proactive approach safeguards the health and productivity of the crops.

Harvesting phase

We strive for the highest quality of produce during the harvest stage. Our team closely monitors the crop conditions and implements stringent quality control measures. By ensuring the best harvest practices, we guarantee that our farmers deliver top-notch products.
